Reputation Matters

Many people under estimate the value of a good reputation. As we lean on networks such as LinkedIn and Twitter to help us connect with the business community and colleagues, your reputation is paramount. What do people say about you when you're not in the room? When it's time for you to set forth on a career search, who is going to respond to your messages and requests for support? Did you leave a positive impression on them? Who's going to recommend your business?
Having no reputation is just as bad as having a bad reputation. After all, at least businesses with a bad reputation still have a presence. I believe that beyond just your skill set, certifications, and education, your reputation helps you stand apart from the competition, and gives people a starting point to engage you.
Here are some tips!
1. Follow through – do what you say you’ll do.
2. Servant leadership - Go out of your way to help others reach their goals.
3. Be a rockstar!(🤘🏼tattoos and mohawks are not required here) Go a step beyond what is expected.
4. Always act with integrity. (even when no ones looking)
5. Get engaged! Take that lunch, go to that happy hour, attend that conference! It's all about growing your network!
